Psychology Department has 13 full-time teachers, of whom six are professors and associate professor and six have master degrees, and 12 part-time teachers. The faculty of the department is a young, professional and cooperative team. 　The department, located in the West Center and the South Center , consists of Psychology Sectors and Education Sector and Mental Counseling Sector. The department offers the majors such as pre-school education, pre-school art, applied psychology and education management. The department takes the responsibilities of education and the psychology courses in the trainings for teachers and headmasters, and the psychology courses for full-time students. The department carries forwards the college's talents-cultivating mode of Teaching & Training in Practical Situations, Coupling the College with the Community. The department signed agreements with ten provincial model kindergartens to train the students.
　 The Centre of the Students' Mental Health Instruction of QTC of the department undertakes the students' mental health instruction. In the West Center there are two mental counseling rooms for individuals, one counseling room for group and one for team. In the South Center , there are three individual mental counseling rooms, one family counseling room, one game counseling room, one team training room and one psychometry room, which aims at training mental counseling teachers and psychological consultants and providing psychological consultation for the society.
　 Two social organizations also set up their offices in the department. The Secretariat Office of Qingdao Psychological Society takes charge of the society's routine work. The Office of the Center of Qingdao Mental Health Instruction for the primary and middle school students deals with instruction, research and examination on the psychological health instruction, training and appraising for part-time mental health counseling teachers. There are two psychological consultation hot lines, one for the primary and middle school students of Qingdao , the other for the vocational colleges' students of Shandong Province , which have won great fame in the society. The department has been awarded many titles such as Advanced Team of Youth Volunteers and Red Flag Collectivity of Women's Day .
