Department of Literature and History tries to improve itself to serve the society. On the basis of its full research and practice in humanity and social science, the department has trained a lot of talents for the primary and middle school of Qingdao in the past 50 years. And today, the department's efforts of training managerial talents attract the attention of many local companies.
The department has 3 teaching and research sections: Chinese Language and Literature, Politics and History and Geography and Human Resource Management. The first two sections shoulder the tasks of the adult education and the continuing education, which are dedicated to help the primary and middle school teachers improve their abilities. The third one undertakes the task of teaching and training the full-time students.
The department has 16 full-time teachers, among whom there are 1 professor, 8 associate professors, 5 lecturers and 2 assistants. At the same time, the department employs a few experienced experts from educational organizations and enterprises to act as part-time teachers, all of whom have both abundant professional knowledge and rich instruction experience in practical techniques.
The department holds the concept of Teaching & Learning for Application and the college talents-cultivating mode of Teaching & Training in Practical Situations, Coupling the College with the Community. The department has signed agreements with RT-MART( Qingdao ) and No.41 middle school and so on. The cooperation is of great benefit for the students to improve their practical techniques. The program of Close to Ivory Tower has helped the students broaden their vision and improve their comprehensive abilities by lectures, speeches and exhibitions.
The department adheres to the development of the majors and society and carries out a series of practices. The department helped some primary and middle schools improve their teaching. The department started the investigation and research of human resources management for schoolteachers and rural areas.
