Recently, the teachers and students of costume program of the school of Engineering and Arts have won substantial prizes in various competitions at differentlevels.
In the early of September, the works of “Chinese and Western Black and White” designed by Li Na, , and the works of “Space of D Keynote” designed by Sun Lu, both of whom are students of Grade 2004 majoring in Costume and instructed by Gao Xiaoyan, were nominated “the Top Ten Designers of Qingdao”. Li Na won the title of “the Top Ten Designers of Qingdao” as a result of her distinguishing angle of view, original notion of design and exquisite making arts. The competitors include some university teachers and designers of businesses.
Some students of Grade 2005, who were majoring in Costume and instructed by An Ping and Gao Xiaoyan, teachers from the school of Engineering and Arts, won in the “Hong Ni Cup” Qingdao citizens Creation Competition, which was sponsored by Qingdao Economy and Trade Committee and Qingdao Clothing Society in the Qingdao Clothes Week. Wang Zongmei’s “Olympic China” won the Golden Prize, Wang Shunzhi’s “Chinese Wawa” won the Silver Prize, and Wang Yanjie, Huang Jing, Shang Jun and Liu Liming won the Outstanding Prize. In addition, Wang Shengxia, who was of Grade 2004 and majoring in Costume, won the Outstanding Prize in the “Parkson Cup” Costume Invitation Competition of Chinese youth. Meanwhile, the teacher An Ping’s “Black VS White”, the student of Grade 2004 Li Zhiyuan’s “Blue Lovely Zipper”, and Sun Shasha’s “Blue Sacrificial rites” were selected for “Lan Yan Cup” Shandong International Competition of Jeans Design, which was sponsored by Shandong Clothing Society. This competition involved Chinese, Japanese and Korean competitors, and our college won the prize of “the Best Organizer”. What’s more, Gao Xiaoyan, a teacher from the school of Engineering and Arts, was nominated for the “Jordan Cup” Chinese sports clothes design competition, and will be in the final competition on Beijing Clothes Week to be held in the middle of November.
