On 20th September, the opening ceremony of the first Science and Technology Festival of the university students of the Development Zone was held in Yifu House of Shandong University of Science and Technology. The first Science and Technology Festival was hosted by the Science and Technology Bureau and the Science and Technology Society of the Qingdao Development Zone, and is undertaken by 6 universities or colleges in the Development Zone. Mr. Song Yu, the Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of QTC, Miss. Zhao Yue, the Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee and some students took part in it.
The subject of the first Science and Technology Festival is “Technology, Youth, and Future”. The festival aims to instruct students to uphold science, pursue truth, and develop innovation and thinking. It focuses on improving their scientific innovation and practical capacity. The series of activities comprise the creative design competition for mechanical electronic products, the creative design competition of recycled objects the subject of which is “to construct a thrifty society”, and some other outstanding technical activities of the universities. The activities total up to 100, and last for 2months. About 100,000 university students from the 6 universities and colleges in the Development Zone are involved in it.
To undertake it, in the light of the features of each program, our college is going to hold the youth forum of “Cultivating Ability and Applying Knowledge to Practice”, Shandong provincial selective trials for computer technology skills, DIY Moge marketing planning skill competition, accounting skills competition, cartoon design competition, international business skills competition, “Application Cup” foreign languages competition, “Gracefulness Cup” secretary skills competition, guided competition entitled “Traveling around the world”, “U.B.C. Coffee” coffee modulation competition of floral formula, “Haier Cup” first household appliance skills competition of Shandong province, web page & flash design competition, locksmith skills competition, exhibition of the prized works of this festival, etc.
