News by Chai Fengjuan English Version:Li Yongsheng

On May 19, the teachers of electronic technology speciality from vocational and technical colleges of the country in Sino-German training class began their first day of work. Dr. Heiber, German expert, donated 50 Eurodollars to the disaster area (approximately 500 Yuan), expressing his condolences for the people of the Sichuan disaster area.

On May 19, Dr. Heiber had strong interest for the students' activities before the dining hall. When he knew it was the donation for the Sichuan disaster area, he hoped to do a bit for the people there.

He said that this was the first time for him to visit China , and he saw many sincere friendly smiling faces in China . He had never thought such a beautiful country just underwent a major earthquake. He expressed deeply the sympathy and distressed for the people in the earthquake areas. He wished the people in the disaster areas would soon get through the difficult time and rebuild their homeland. He handed the money to Pro. Jin Longguo, a teacher in charge of the training class. All the trainees from all over the country responded with the warm applause.

Mr. Heiber and all the trainees stood in silence for three minutes from 2:28 pm on Monday, the time the deadly earthquake hit.
