On May 14, a report titled Quality Guarantee of Higher Education of the Netherlands was held in Ocean University of China by Dr. Nico Verloop, Director of ICLON Leiden University, which had a close relationship with QTC.
Dr. Verloop made the report from the aspects of external guarantee system, internal guarantee criterion and the Holland guarantee experiences of higher education. The external guarantee system was related with the introduction of the development of the college to the taxpayers and recruitment of evaluation institutes to assess the college. The results of the evaluation consisted of two kinds: qualified and disqualified, and the colleges of the former would be funded by the government for six years and had the qualification to award degrees, while the latter ones would be demanded to call off the relevant courses. The internal quality guarantee criterions were composed of course targets, courses criterions, teaching staff, service criterions, and internal guarantee system as well as its effectiveness. A series of measures were taken to implement the quality guarantee of Holland higher education: first would be the self-evaluation of the college, and followed was the assessment by the evaluation institute, the outcome of which would be fed back to the college; finally, the college would work out how to improve the qualities as per the outcome.
The leaders of QTC including President Shi Zhongjian, Vice-President Qin Chuan, Kong Xiansi, Director of Research Department, Niu Jieguan, Director of Technical Museum and several other working staff attended the report.
The personal attendance of the leaders embodies the emphasis on education and teaching quality. Teaching quality, the lifeline of vocational education, is our forever pursuit.
